Snowshoeing

At 7 Tails, exploring the trails doesn't end when the snow is on the ground.  Instead, we just change up what we put on our feet!

Swapping hiking boots for snowshoes, we have tons of trails just begging for you to put the first step in freshly fallen snow.  And because we have an expansive property, you'll never run into anyone else as you explore the forest and all it's winter wonders.

The forest is alive in the winter.  You'll likely see birds, squirrels, rabbits and maybe even a fox!

Meet your Guides

Your winter adventure begins with Scott and Leona—partners in life, in creativity, and in carving out the very trails you’ll explore. Many of the paths that wind through our snowy forest were built by their own hands, shaped with care, curiosity, and a deep love for this land.

Scott is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a knack for finding beauty in the wild places most people overlook. He knows these woods the way a storyteller knows a favourite tale—every bend, every ridge, every quiet pocket where the world seems to hold its breath.

Leona brings a different kind of grace to the journey. As a figure skating coach, she has spent years teaching balance, confidence, and flow—skills that translate beautifully to moving through winter terrain. Her calm presence and intuitive guidance make even first-time snowshoers feel at ease.

Together, they offer more than a tour. They offer connection—to the land, to the season, and to the quiet magic that lives in untouched snow.

Come meet the people who built the trails and love them enough to share them.

Tips for your Snowshoe Adventure

Dress in layers.  Check the weather before you arrive.  Alberta weather can vary greatly from day to day.  Layers help you stay warm without overheating as you move.

We'll bring water, hot drinks and snacks.  Bring a backpack to carry layers and other goods.

Wear proper winter boots.  Snowshoes do the floating - your boots do the warming.  Think: insulated and comfortable.

Sunscreen and sunglasses are a must!  Yes, it's winter but that glare from the sun and off the snow can be just like the beach.

Pause often.  Not only to catch your breath - it can be a workout! - but to take in the forest.  It's magic.
